Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
So last year, my dear friend, Katy Chen Mazzara, graciously wrote this feature blog in support of me and a show that I had written and was producing. I met Katy back in 2008 when we had both moved into this new building in downtown L.A...you remember, the big push for revitalizing downtown before the big ...anyway. She was producing television back then and lived above me. A handful of us had bought into this building and we all became friends. We were all pioneers and excited about the developments happening downtown. It was the first time really getting to know all my neighbors living anywhere in L.A.
Anywhoo... flash forward ten years later (geesh where does the time go?), we both had long since moved and married and we reconnected. After Katy's successful career in TV, she decided to turn her attentions to financial coaching for creatives. After barely surviving the crash of 2008/09, I really wanted to get a better handle on my relationship with money and enlisted her services. Since she had a background in producing I also wanted her advice on how to navigate my production. What a Godsend she was/is and I am so grateful that we reconnected and that I had the good fortune to work with here. Anyway here is a link to her blog below. :)
"Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love". - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
